Meet Mary Brunski, RICP©️BFA™️

I was raised by a single mom and started working when I was 15. I don’t remember us having health insurance.  Maybe when she was a secretary working for an engineering company.  However, in my high school years, she worked at a factory, low wages, awful hours, and no benefits. Fortunately, we were relatively healthy and I don’t recall any emergencies that could have truly bankrupted us.

Over the years, I had employer coverage until my thirties when I found a pretty good insurance plan that I could pay for privately (and had no pre-existing conditions that they would decline me that coverage).  From then on, I negotiated a higher salary in lieu of health insurance, which worked great.  In my forties, we moved North and I became a stay-at-home mom.  Now insurance came through my husband’s employment.  I tried to find a cheaper plan but now had a pre-existing condition and no insurance company would give me coverage.

I ended up helping my mom through her Medicare insurance journey when Part D (prescriptions) rolled out and was shocked at how complicated it was.  So, became educated and started working with Seniors and their Medicare insurance needs.  Helping people get how Medicare Supplements and Medicare Advantage is rewarding.  I wish I had known more about this when my Mom first signed up.

I realized that people under 65 were struggling with making insurance decisions after a layoff or quitting. More education and since September 2020, I‘ve helped people understand what they are buying there as well.  The cheapest plan may end up costing you the most in a year if you actually have to use it.  I help people see the pros and cons of various plans to find one that will allow them to sleep at night.
